• Lego and Rubik’s Cube Club

    Participants are invited to build master creations with Legos provided by the library. We will also have Rubik’s cubes on hand with instructions on how to solve the Cube. All ages welcome.

  • Lunar New Year Brush Painting - Rescheduled
    Tuesday, September 26 at 2 p.m.

    Join us to celebrate Lunar New Year 2023. Learn how to write out simple phrases in Chinese characters with a brush and inkwell and learn what the Year of the Rabbit means in Chinese folklore. This event requires registration as space is limited.

  • Teen Challenge Mode: Newspaper, But Make It Fashion
    Wednesday, September 27 at 1 p.m.

    What's black and white and strikes a pose? This fashion challenge. Using only newspaper, you will be asked to create iconic pieces worthy of the Smithsonian. So nice, you may just wear a piece home! Snacks will be provided. For students in grade 5 and up.

  • Great Decisions
    Friday, October 6 at 10:30 a.m.

    Join with other community members at the library for lively and informative discussions on the major global issues of our time. This month’s topic is Climate Migration. Meetings center on topics outlined in the Great Decisions briefing book provided by the Foreign Policy Association.

Buy a reusable bag at Hannaford this September and support our programming! The Friends of the Wells Public Library are September’s choice for the Hannaford Helps Reusable Bag program in Wells. 

For each Community or Fight Hunger Bag sold at the Wells Plaza Hannaford during September, the store will donate $1 to the Friends. Proceeds from the Friends are used to create unique programming at the library.

Mobile HotSpots to Borrow

Wells Public Library is happy to announce that we have added Wi-Fi HotSpots to our collection! Wells cardholders at least 18 years of age can check out the HotSpot for one week at a time, with no renewals. The HotSpots use T-Mobile 5G signal, and up to 10 user devices can connect to the signal.

Room Rental

Did you know our Meeting Room and Community Program Room are available to rent for all of your programming needs? Cost is $25 an hour for the Meeting Room and $50 an hour for the Community Program Room. Available to book for parties, events, conferences, meetings, etc. See this page for information about online requests: Meeting Rooms Info

The Meeting Room seats up to 14 people and can be used during open hours. The Community Program Room seats over 80 people and is available even when the library is closed! Call for more information or email sclaydon@wellstown.org to ask about room bookings.
